Five in Boise

Misc March Pics 03/20/2009

Here are a few oddball pictures from the month.  Included are a picture of A and his girlfriend at a dance they went to this month.  One of the ladies and I on a fun 5K we walked for the YMCA.  Another of A and I in our Special Olympics uniforms.  And another of A in Hamlet that was put on in February actually.   It is pretty blurry because no flash allowed and I don't have a very good camera.

Volleyball 03/20/2009

E has been playing in a volleyball league this winter.  It is a more competitive league than the regular junior high team.  She really likes it and has learned quite a bit this year.  I think she has a killer serve but then I am her mama and strongly opinionated in the area. The pics are not the best because E does not like me to take her pic normally but really not while she is playing so I slip a few in here and there.

E's Birthday 03/20/2009

My baby girl, E, turned 14 this month.  She wanted what most teenage girls want.  For her friends to come over and for her parents to leave them alone.  We took several of her  friends out to see the movie, Coraline, which is rated PG and marketed for kids but is really kinda creepy and I was glad C did not come along.  Then she had 7 girlfriends over for a sleepover.  All I can say about this age for girls is that it is SOOOOO loud.  They talked nonstop while eatting and texting at the same time.  I noticed S stayed in our bedroom for most of the night and would occasionally make an appearance shaking his head and then retreat back into the bedroom.  E is turning into a beautiful young lady and we are extremely proud of all of her accomplishments and espeicially for the beautiful soul she has.

In January I got together with a few ladies at work and we decided we would make a goal to walk a half marathon this spring.  So every Saturday since then we have been walking in the foothills.  We started with 3 miles and are currently up to 10 miles.  The 1/2 marathon we picked is called Robie Creek and it is a pretty intense course.  It is uphill for approximately 10 miles and a steep downhill for at least 1 mile of the trail.  We train on the course so we can get used to the uphill.  The only problem has been that there is too much snow still to make it up to the top.  But spring is here officially today and this weekend we have hopes that the snow is starting to melt.  Here are some pictures of the area we walk in and one of two of the ladies.
