Five in Boise

Ladies Night Out....Back in Denver got together in July with K, J, M, and T.  We rented a limo and hit the town.  Can't really say what all we did but just know that I couldn't look the limo driver in the eye when I paid him at the end of the night.  Looking forward to next year!

While in Denver mom let me borrow the BMW and J, her two girls and I headed up to Idaho Falls for some pizza at Beau Jo's.  The top down and music playing, we enjoyed ourselves.

Quick family vacation.  S, E, C and I went on a short weekend vacation  this summer.  A had to work (again he was missed and I was sad) but anyway we carried on and had a great time.  We started in a small town called Hagerman in Idaho.  This place has quite a bit to offer.  A museum with the state fossil, the Hagerman Horse.  There are fossil beds, two fish hatcheries, the 1000 Springs area with picnic and hiking areas.  Plus, we went to the hot springs pool.  Above is S with the girls at a couple of the springs.

After leaving Hagerman we headed for Salt Lake City, Utah.  There we spent a full day at Lagoon.  Lagoon is a large amusement park, like Six Flags, with a water park and rides.  We went on just about everything.  C even tried her first roller coaster.  She did not care for it at all but she tried.  She is a spinning ride kind of girl.  Which we took turns going on the spinning rides with her and we all ended up a little ill.  Above is E and I going on the Rocket ride (the kind the whips you up fast and then drops you).  E did not want to join me but she had just made me go on this ridiculous ride that spun in all directions and this was my get even.  It was a nice trip and good to get out of town.

C's 11th Birthday!  She had been asking, and asking for a camcorder so here she is with the item she wanted.  She has now made everyone crazy with sneaking videos.  To the point she may lose it!  But she is also making films and commercials that are pretty cute.

For C's birthday party we went to Eagle Island Park.  They have picnic areas, a swimming area roped off in the river, and a water slide.  The girls played for hours and even talked C into going on the slide.  Once she tried it she loved it and went about 10 more times.  It was a beautiful day.

Okay, so I am not great at this blog thing, I don't get to it as often as I had planned but here is what the rest of the summer looked like for us here in Boise.

S's mom came out to visit in July from Sacramento.  I had two out of my three mother-in-laws out to visit (that is right, I have 3!!).  We had S's sister, her husband, and their two kids (they aren't kids anymore :o( ) out for a barbeque and a surprise birthday party for S's mom.  It was really nice to see her.  Below is S and his dog, Lucy.  She would love to be a lap dog.

These are Huckleberries that we picked outside of Cascade.  We got chewed up by mosquitoes but it was worth it.  Don't ask E she will not agree, she was a wuss about it all.  We used a can or two of bug spray in about an hour.  But these berries sell for $40/gallon so we got our moneys worth.  A again was working, you see a trend here, he never joins us in our adventures...sad really.  Anyway, I made a pie and some ice cream out of the berries and it tasted great.
