A Typical Day 01/23/2009
I thought I would share what a typical day is like for me. The usual day starts at 5:00am when I reluctantly get ready for work. Here is what I see when I leave the house for work. Yep, it's dark out. I can watch the sun rise sometimes on my way to work or watch the sky light up from the window at work. I never used to be a morning person but over the last couple of years I have grown used to it and I find myself getting up early even on the weekends and I enjoy the quietness before everyone else is up. After work I pick up the girls from school and then the nightly scramble to get activities, homework, and dinner starts. One night a week we have girl scouts, one night we have boy scouts, a couple of nights there is volleyball, one afternoon there is 4-H, E is in a couple of clubs in school, A is in a play for drama, and A does football workouts everyday. On top of which I try to workout at least 3 times a week. And S is sometimes working nights and sometimes there to join in the madness. On the day I decided to take pictures for this day it was C's girl scout night and so here are a couple of shots from the talent show they performed that night. C did not want to be in the show so she was props and assistant to the leader. This is C helping the leader with a prop and then running off stage as fast as possible but I managed to click one quick shot before she got away. She is my shy child, bless her heart. By the way, these girls are selling cookies if anyone is interested let me know. No pressure just there if you want them. Anyway, after the nightly activities everyone ends up back at home where we prepare for the next day and it to start over again. I am usually snoring by 10:00pm. The following is a shot of E and she will kill me if she sees it but hehe my blog, my pictures. Happy New Year! 01/07/2009
Today is A's birthday! I can't believe he is seventeen. Well, I should say I don't want him to be seventeen. I want him to go back to being about 5 or 6. He was so sweet. He believed everything I ever said and thought the whole world was a remarkable place full of possibilities. Now he doesn't believe anything I say or at least he gives me a look that equates to "My mother must be brain damaged to have just uttered whatever it was that she just said." He is a great guy and I am extremely proud of him. He has a truly good heart and an intelligient mind. I know he will be a fine adult in the not too distant future. With that said I want to add that he is driving me crazy!!!! He is at the age where the world seems to revolve around him and each event in his life is of the utmost importance. I know that is normal and nature's way of making me want to push him out of the nest. Happy Birthday Love Boy! Here's to making it to the 18th birthday. |
