Five in Boise

Here are some photos of events that we all took part of this month.

E continued to play volleyball this month.  She had a few all day tournaments and the team did pretty well.  They were first in the pool at one of the tournaments.  She LOVES volleyball and has decided to help out as assistant of the 7th grade team at school.  C has also just started playing volleyball this month so I will get some pics of her and the team up by next month.

My good, good, good friend J came out to visit this month.  We just spent some time relaxing and catching up.  We watched a ton of movies, got a pedicure, went out to eat and shopped at the mall.  It was a much needed rest for the both of us.  I am looking forward to going out to visit her and the rest of the ladies in July.

This is Lulu, E's new pet.  A dwarf hamster.  She actually got a different Lulu for her birthday last month but the poor thing only made it one week.  I truly think the store gave us a sick one.  Anyway, we got a replacement and this one is a bundle of energy.  She hangs from the top of the cage and loves to be held.  Everyone cross your fingers that this one makes it a little longer.  E was devastated with the last one.

These are a few of the flowers that are popping up in our yard at the new house.  I am really ignorant of plants and I am doing my best to find out what all we have and what I need to do to take care of them.  The top one I found out is a magnolia and then there is a weigela.  I am impressed that I found that out.  Hehe!  Next is a plum tree (we also have a cherry tree).  The last one is very pretty and ground cover but I have no idea what kind it is.  Anyone that does, let me know.

HAPPY EASTER!  Here are a few shots of the kids coloring eggs.   Also, the girls made cupcakes that are like Easter baskets.  We had an early meal at noon that day.  We had the traditional ham, asparagus, rolls, and fruit salad.  We did make some homemade strawberry ice cream (thanks dad for the ice cream maker) that was delicious.  S and A both had to work in the afternoon.  The girls and I just hung out and watched movies for the rest of the day.

Also this month S went on his annual week long spring turkey hunt with his longtime friend B.  They went up near Cour de alene.  They were concerned that they would not see any birds due to all of the snow but S got his on the first day there.  You can see all the snow in the first pic.  That is normally where they camp but they had to find a new spot this year.  B got his turkey a couple of days later.  They also took a boat up Hell's Canyon and went bass fishing.  This is not a very big small mouth bass that S caught but they had a blast.  They ended up taking a bucket of fish back to a Chinese restaurant where B's father-in-law knew the owner and in return the owner bought them rounds of drinks.

A couple more things for this month......

I painted E's room.  She wanted blue and green stripes and blue and green stripes she got.  It took me a long full day to complete it.  I spent hours measuring the stripes and taping them off.  Plus taking some really ugly 80's wallpaper down on one of the walls.  The actually painting only took and hour or two.

Oh, and I complete the half marathon!  I made it 13.1 miles, 8 miles up a mountain, three miles down the steep decline and the rest was flat.  I was so sore and tired but I did it.  I don't have any photos yet to put on the blog but when I do I will post them.  I think I am going to shoot for another one in the fall and then maybe the follo
